Considering QR Codes? Be Mobile FriendlyPromoting your website with a QR Code is a popular and effective way to drive traffic from mobile users. However, linking the code to a website that isn't mobile friendly will leave a bad impression. Put yourself in the shoes of a mobile user. They want a professional looking solution in a mobile friendly experience. If you provide that, your promotion will be successful. If not, you're better off not using them.Weigh in: How have you used Manta Connect – or other online forums – to learn best practices or grow your network? In addition to linking QR Codes to a website that isn't mobile friendly, I also see a lot of QR Codes linked to a home made mobile landing page. With so many free places to make your own landing page, it may seem like an easy solution to being mobile friendly. Any landing page is not the same as a website and it's more like handing someone a business card, it has very limited information. If you have a poorly done homemade landing page, it's more like handing out a business card you made with a magic marker and a scrap of paper, and I am sure that's not the impression you want to leave with a potential customer.
The importance of a professional looking mobile website is no different then the importance of your regular website. Dan Ramthun http://www.getmorebusiness.co |

QR Codes and Why Your Business Should Have One
QR codes are used everywhere. Magazine ads, product labels, and postcards are a few of the places that companies implement these codes. A wide range of businesses are using multiple QR codes. If used effectively on banners, posters, product labels, flyers, business cards, brochures, or coupons, they can make your business smart phone friendly. Right now Productla.com offers QR codes for your business free, when you purchase a coupon card set, or any product that you would like to promote your business on. QR codes are not just limited to website connections, they can also be links to YouTube videos, direct dial to your business, and outside links to advertisements. I have spent thousands of dollars and multiple web pages and I still can't even find my web page without the address. The people who built the web pages keep telling me that google will find the page and it will start appearing? Then advertisers keep calling and telling me things like my URL address is to long for google and I should pay more money every month and they will get my web page so customers can find it? I am at an absolute loss?

I can understand your frustrations. I would like to make a QR code for whatever page of your website that your company would like users to visit. Then I can show you ways to implement the QR code in your marketing, which will produce higher traffic. Forget about Google and the companies you have bad results with in the past for a moment and let me help you. Send me the link to the page you would like to advertise and I will send you the code to make your business smart phone friendly.

Forget about Google???
We may all love to not have to deal with Google, but telling a business to forget about Google is like telling them to forget about marketing online. Simply creating a QR Code linked to a webpage, that is what this post is all about! Just having a QR Code has nothing to do with making a business smart phone friendly!!! @ William It is so unfortunate that there are some who claim to be marketing "experts" who only care about how much they make and not about how much it will do for you. Your situation warrants looking into further. If you would like to share more information I am sure some useful ideas can be shared with you. There are a number of us on here that will give straight forward advice that will help you and not just push our business on you. Dan Ramthun http://www.getmorebusiness.co |

I think your missing the point. It is obvious that the person, to which I had replied, is frustrated with his/her past experiences with SEO companies who promised results and did not deliver. I did not say that Google was not important, I think as business owners we all know Google's importance in today's market. The search results for a business, Keywords, PPC, and SEO on Google, or any search engine site is important; and that is a different conversation all together. A conversation that should be had by the troubled business owner, and its SEO/Web Development company that made empty promises. The point I am making is, set that aside for a moment and take the time to create a QR code for your company. Learn about them and use QR codes to help your business.
QR codes are free to create, easy to implement into marketing strategies, and are a direct route to whatever page of a website that the business owner is trying to build traffic on. QR codes can be read by most smart phones using a simple reader such as ScanLife, or Microsoft Tag reader. Businesses are not limited to one code, and multiple codes allow multiple functions. QR codes can connect the user to a YouTube video which informs the consumers about what said company does, it can dial a business direct, and it can be a direct link to outside promotional advertisements. All of these QR codes can be scanned via the 70 million smart phones in the US. If you would like to read more, check out what Microsoft has to say about the subject. http://tag.microsoft.com/what-is-tag/mobile-marketing.aspx If you would like a link to your site that does not look like the one above, but instead is a QR code, contact Productlosangeles@gmail.com |

A perfect example. William has a Restoration company. On his truck he can have a set of car magnets, or a vinyl wrap. Incorporated in his graphics can be a QR code, any size. As potential consumers see William drive around town they can say " I need a guy for that" and simply scan the QR code to see a YouTube video showing William doing work, or a direct link to his website for more information about his business, or put in a direct call to William via the code function.
William can have a QR code printed on his uniforms, hats and shirts, on postcards he mails in his area, on his business cards he hands out, on coupon cards, etc. The great part of using multiple QR codes is you can track which ads work for you and which do not. Maybe William wants to offer a special online for people who visit his website, that can be a code he has on a limited amount of cards, he passes them out, people scan the code, and take advantage of the deal. Now, William has successfully gained traffic to his site and his business card that normally gets thrown away or filed, has prompted the consumer to visit his site, with the click of a button, on a smart phone. Maybe William takes an ad in his local Penny Saver, and the ad reads "Need home or office restoration, 20% off CALL TODAY" and it has the QR code along side his number which direct links the user to Williams phone, website, leads generations page, or a printable coupon. These are all illustrations of time saving methods your customers can use to speed up the search process, and establish a familiarization with your brand, products/services. Take a look around, every medium to large business, even ones with lower Google listings have implemented QR codes into their Marketing Strategies. HBO used QR codes on the mailers with the Spring line up, Penny Saver has a QR code on its cover, Land O Lakes has them on the larger creamer bottles, Calvin Klein has them on the corner of the magazine ads, there is a reason that they have caught on like wildfire. |
